NMU Center for Rural Health Partners with Everyday Life Consulting to Offer Community Health Worker Certification Training

Northern Michigan University’s Center for Rural Health announces a partnership that will support training and certificate opportunities for Community Health Workers. The NMU Center for Rural Health has partnered with Everyday Life Consulting to offer Community Health Worker certification training to residents in the upper Peninsula through a virtual format. The Community Health Worker training program consists of a 12-day course, including Mental Health First Aid and Adverse Childhood event training.  Thanks to the US Department of Health and Human Sciences, individuals in the program will pay 250 dollars for the course. The CHW program’s standard rate would typically cost a student 1,625 dollars for the training. All training sessions will run from 8 am to 5 pm during training. The first training session will begin on January 9th. Community Health Workers work as a bridge between community and public services.
