The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission announced that this year’s Keweenaw Heritage Grant program has awarded nearly $126,000 (a total of $125,963.39) in funding for various historic preservation, interpretation, education, and curatorial projects covering an area from Copper Harbor to the Porcupine Mountains.
Of the 20 grant applications, 15 were chosen to receive awards.

- Calumet Theatre received $15,000 for the Ballroom Heating Restoration project
- Keweenaw Heritage Center received $15,000 for the Replacement Study for St. Anne’s Church
- Painesdale Mine & Shaft, Inc. received $15,000 for the Champion #4 Shaft House Preservation and Restoration project
- Quincy Mine Hoist Association received $15,000 for the Historic Oil House Structural and Exterior Repairs project
- Ontonagon County Historical Society received $12,600 for Collections Inventory, Cataloging, & Storage
- Keweenaw Historical Society received $11,000 for the Interactive Kiosk Development project
- Houghton County Historical Society received $10,000 for the Window and Bay Doors Replacement project
- Michigan Tech Archives received $6,000 for the C&H Employee Card Digitization Cleanup
- Chassell Heritage Organization received $5,582.50 for the Interior Sandstone and Brick Repair project
- Adventure Mining Co. received $5,300 for the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades project
- Fort Wilkins Historic State Park received $5,000 for the Fort Wilkins Becomes a State Park Exhibit Development project
- Osceola Township received $3,676.40 for the Digital Documentation of Quincy Dredge No. 2 project
- Norwegian Lutheran Church Historical Society received $3,644.49 for the Accessibility Improvements project
- Copper Range Historical Society received $2,160.00 for the Collections Management project
- Friends of the Porkies received $1,000 for Educational Field Trips and Programs project
