November is recognized by students, schools, and libraries as National Novel Writing Month. Starting tomorrow night, the Portage Lake District Library plans to help writers, young and old, put pen to paper and express the stories in their head. During National Novel Writing month on Wednesdays, writers are encouraged to meet each other, in a dedicated writing space in the Michigan Room of the library, from 5 to 7:30 pm. Most writers during November will set a goal to write so many pages a day. And while you do not have to produce a finished work by the end of the month, writing can help create an escape from general life stress. Creative writing can also help writers self reflect and analyze emotions and feelings. Join the Portage Lake District Library each Wednesday during National Novel Writing Month.
