Michigan Tech’s J. Robert Van Pelt and John and Ruanna Opie Library earns recognition for excellence in customer service. The VPOL’s employees have been awarded the 2023 Citations of Excellence for exemplary customer service from the State Librarian. The award is given out each year by the Library of Michigan Foundation and the Library of Michigan, and the Library Association of Michigan. Director of the Van Pelt – Opie Library Erin Matas says that the award affirms their staff’s dedication to fostering a welcoming and enriching educational environment. Several representatives from the library’s staff traveled downstate earlier in the month to accept the award during the annual Michigan Library Association conference.
