A graduate student at Michigan Tech has been nominated by the university for the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award. Recently Michigan Technological University announced it has nominated Master of Engineering Mechanics student Thomas Draper for the MAGS Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award. Draper began his undergraduate at the university in 2019 and was introduced to his research advisor Dr. Susanta Ghoush, who encouraged his research on the fracture characteristics of 3d printed lattice metamaterials. He says that his thesis led to his understanding of the fracture characteristics of 3d printing and how to improve fracture toughness.
