Michigan Technological University College of Computing Names Yu Cai as New Associate Dean

Michigan Technological University College of Computing names a new associate dean of the college. Applied Computing Professor Yu Cai has been selected as the new associate dean for the College of Computing Yu Cai will take on the role effective August 1st ahead of the fall semester. In the associate dean role, Cai will provide oversight and leadership concerning the college’s research and academics. He says his priority will assist the Dean of the College of Computing Dennis Livesay, and work to fulfill the college’s mission to provide premier computing talent and innovation to Michigan and the Great Lakes Region.

Cai began teaching at the university in 2005 and serves as an advisor for the MTU RedTeam student organization and the Cyber Husky outreach program. He also helps direct the National Science Foundation Scholarship for Service program. Last year Cai played a key role in the College of Computing earning status as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.
