Coming out of the fall semester many graduating seniors might already know where they will go for college. While other students are still waiting on acceptance letters or planning visitation trips. But one common link between all of them remains how to pay for post-secondary education.
Tonight to help students and their families sort through the financial literacy and to get prepared for heading off to school Michigan Tech’s Center for Educational Outreach has set up a Planning and Pay for College Workshop. While at the workshop students can set up their FAFSA aid account, learn about how to search for scholarships, and tips for finding the right fit for a college major.
Parents can also learn a little while attending the workshop at the Interpreting Your Financial Aid session or one of the Identifying Support Resources for Students and Parents. Families can also receive help from TRIO staff for one-on-one FAFSA counseling.
The workshop will provide a pizza buffet at no cost to attendees. Families are asked to register in advance of the evening. A registration link can be found here. Below are links to the evening’s full schedule of information sessions, and details for families in need of child care during the event.
The planning and Paying for College Workshop at Michigan Tech will begin at 5:30 pm in the Memorial Union Building.
