Michigan Tech raises tuition for 2021-22 school year

Life on campus will be back to normal at Michigan Tech in the fall, and that includes a tuition increase. President Richard Koubek says there is more to the story, as students have many options to help manage the price.

So, the Board did vote to have a tuition increase of about three percent at their spring meeting. First of all, we have a very vigorous scholarship for students, both academically and those who have financial needs. That’s a very big part of Tech’s profile.

Additionally, the American Rescue Plan Act helps students too.

And secondly, there is funding from the government as part of the recovery act, and we are distributing some of those funds as well.

Campus is open. Concerts have returned to the Rozsa Center, the Student Development Complex is accepting new members, tour guides are meeting with prospective students, and professors are in their offices. Koubek says by fall he expects no restrictions for school activities.

As you know we’ve lifted the mask mandates, we’ve opened back up. Our staff and faculty are back on campus. We expect full dormitories and the hockey team to have a full stadium this fall.

Michigan Tech hockey’s home opener is scheduled for October 15th against Notre Dame.
