Michigan Tech announces the university’s new dean of the College of Sciences and Arts. Michigan Technological University recently announced that it will bring on LaReesa Wolfenbarger as the new dean of the College of Science and Arts. Wolfenbarger will arrive on campus to take on the dean of college role effective July 1t. Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Andrew Storer says he thanks the search committee for the work, adding he was impressed by the engagement and thoughtfulness of the committee when sorting through the large list of candidates for the role.
Wolfenbarger comes to Michigan Technological University from the University of Nebraska Omaha. There she serves as the dean of natural sciences and research in the College of Arts and Sciences. She also teaches a course on the Omaha campus as a professor of biology and is the director of the animal use and care program in the department. She holds a doctorate of philosophy in Ecology and evolutionary biology from Cornell University and a bachelor of science in biology and biological sciences from the University of California Los Angeles.
