Twelve Michigan Tech Huskies are currently half way around the globe on a special trip. For another week Michigan Tech Chemistry Professor Sarah Green and her students are attending the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, for COP27. More than 35,000 participants are attending the 27th Convention on Climate Change, it is the largest climate change focused event in the world. Michigan Tech University students have access to this year’s blue zone, offering the opportunity to observe negotiations and connect with global policy makers. Green, has spearheaded this year’s MTU delegation, and in 2019 and 2021. She has prioritized inviting students passionate about policy making, and climate change and environmental science, during the past three trips.
