Michigan DNR seeks to fill 15 vacancies on two citizen advisory council in the Upper Peninsula

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources asks for Upper Peninsula residents to join the Citizen’s Advisory Council. Recently the Michigan DNR announced it will seek representatives of the Upper Peninsula’s communities to join the Eastern and Western Upper Peninsula Citizens Advisory Council.

The Councils work with the state’s natural resource department in an advisory role for regional programs and policies, as well as identify areas where the department can work more effectively and respond to challenges across the region. The council meets every other month, and will need to fill 15 seats; 5 positions are open on the East UP’s advisory council, and 10 seats are vacant in the western region’s council.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will accept applications from the Eastern and Western Upper Peninsula citizen advisory councils until November 22nd.
