Michigan DNR release survey for the Keweenaw Point and Fort Wilkins Historic State Park

Michigan Department of Natural Resources seeks public input for a new general management plan in Keweenaw Point and Fort Wilkins Historic State Park. These plans will guide the protection of natural resources and landscapes with historical significance and enhance recreational opportunities in the area. The Department has released a survey for both areas. The department will then host an in-person meeting on October 29th at the Grant township hall, in Copper Harbor, and a virtual meeting on November 6th. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. After finishing the survey individuals can find more information on the general management plan on the DNR’s website. The survey portal will close on November 24th. Those interested in taking the survey or want to find details for either public meeting. Can find more information including how to register for the virtual meeting below.

In-person: Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m., Grant Township Hall, Copper Harbor

Virtual: Nov. 6, 6-7:30 p.m. (pre-registration required)
