MITRALE announces a proposed change to the group’s bylaws. Recently MI TRALE announced the board of directors proposed an amendment to a section of the recreation group’s bylaws that would allow immediate family members to join the board of directors on a case-by-case basis and approved by a majority of the sitting board agree to waive the limitation. The amended bylaw will have a vote of the membership at the MI TRALE January meeting in Bruce Crossing. The meeting will coincide with MI TRALE’s annual election meeting. MI TRALE members will meet at the Bruce Crossing Town Hall building on January 6th, 2025.

Your Board of Directors (BOD) is proposing the below amendment to Article IV, Section A, Item 3 of our Bylaws. The current wording of this item is listed below that. Please read these two pieces of documentation carefully, as we will be asking you to vote on making the amendment a permanent change to the Bylaws at the January Meeting. The Meeting and Elections will be held Monday, January 6th, 2025 in the Bruce Crossing Town Hall. You will, as always, receive an email notification of this meeting one (1) week in advance of its occurrence.
This is the proposed change:
3. The members of the BOD shall be elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting and assumption of positions shall take place immediately after the election is closed. No more than one (1) person from an immediate family can be nominated, elected, or appointed to a position on the BOD at the same time, unless, on a case-by-case basis, by a majority vote of the sitting BOD, it is agreed to waive this limitation.
