The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a half-million dollar project to rebuild the railroad crossing in Champion on US–41. Starting today MDOT crews will begin a 500,000 dollar investment project to rebuild the Wisconsin Central Railroad crossing near Champion in Marquette County. The department expects work will wrap up in early July. During the duration of work, one lane will be maintained in each direction using a temporary roadway. The project will increase the safety of motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
