May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To help spread awareness and share resources the Mental Health Support Group Keweenaw Area has partnered with the Portage Lake District Library to host a community program tomorrow evening. The program titled 10 Habits for Healthy Brains, led by Brian Rendal from the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will speak on how the stigma of talking about mental health has slowed in recent years. Rendel has more than 30 years of experience working as a mental health professional. During the presentation, he hopes to share tips with the community about empowerment, and support linked to mental well-being. Before the presentation, local mental health groups plan to share a brief update on activities, programs, and events. The 10 Habits for a Healthy Brain will begin at 6 pm tomorrow at the Portage Lake District library.
