Michigan Tech Rozsa Center Director Mary Jennings will step down effective May 1st. Jennings recently accepted a new role as the Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Ballet.
During her tenure, Jennings’ service to the Rozsa Center included implementing the pay as you are able ticketing program to make the arts more accessible to the local community. Some of the shows Jennings led the charge to bring to the Copper Country during the program’s existence included the recent Mosaic for Earth with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra and Michigan Tech Choir. As well as helped to bring fantastic entertainers, speakers, and organized events to Michigan Tech’s campus.
Chair of the Department of Visual and Preforming Arts Jared Anderson says that working with Jennings since 2014 has been impressive to say the least and the Rozsa Center will dearly miss her leadership. Jennings says that she’s been grateful for her staff, and Michigan Tech’s campus for helping her growth and the experience to contribute to the vibrant inviting community in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
The Rozsa Center will begin its search for a new director over the summer with hopes to secure an individual for the role by the start of the new school year.
