Update; Major Traffic Jam Near the Airport

Update; Keweenaw Report reached out to the Houghton County Sheriff office. It appears the semi was attempting a turn onto Boston location Rd. when road conditions were slick. And the semi went off the road into the ditch. No one was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Crews worked quickly to restore US-41 to normal traffic conditions and finished a couple hours after the incident.

Semi-truck traveling north on US-41, crossed the road and stopped in the ditch near the Houghton County Airport. MSP troopers are directing single lane traffic. And the delay is expecting to last for some time. Superior Service Towing was on scene working on pulling the semi from the west side of the highway. Houghton County Sheriff is in charge of the investigation. More details to come.
