Drivers crossing the Portage Lake Lift Bridge into Houghton can expect a single-lane closure starting on Monday. The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a $763,000 repair project along two miles of M-26 highway between Green Acres Road and Shelden Avenue. The work will include concrete pavement repairs and joint repair. Starting on Monday a single lane will close on M-26. Some night work can be expected at the intersections of Green Acres Road, Razorback Drive, and Shelden Avenue. Then starting after July 22nd the single lane width will be reduced down to 12 feet wide. Work beginning on Monday will wrap up on August 23rd.
