Fulmer

MLB
Michael Fulmer pitched eight strong innings, as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-2 Friday night. Fulmer went eight innings, scattering eight hits while while striking out nine. Victor Martinez singled home a pair of runs in the second inning, and Jim Adduci drove in three with a bases-loaded triple in the sixth.

Kinsler

The Tigers play at Oakland again tonight. Jordan Zimmermann will start against Jesse Hahn. Pregame coverage will begin at 8:40 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler missed Friday’s game because of a tight hamstring. Manager Brad Ausmus said that Kinsler might not return to the lineup until the team begins a series Tuesday in Arizona. Outfielder J.D. Martinez began a rehab assignment with the Class-A Lakeland Tigers Friday night. He had two hits as the designated hitter. Martinez will try to play some innings in the outfield tonight. The Milwaukee Brewers collected seven hits, but couldn’t score, as they fell to the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0 Friday night.
