Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly Warns of Texting Scam Impersonating the Organization

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly warns the community of a texting scam impersonating the organization. The local senior service non-profit organization, that organizes community meals and deliveries, supplies firewood, and offers rides to medical appointments, has received reports of an unknown source impersonating Little Brothers.

Little Brothers strive for excellence in programs and services extended to the elderly community, says executive director Carol Korpela, adding that their first concern regards the well-being of the community Little Brothers serves. Text scams are difficult to identify, often using spoofing techniques to trick people into responding. Little Brothers advises to never provide personal or financial information in response to texts calls, or emails. LBFE programs are available free of charge to seniors in the Upper Peninsula. If you have received a suspicious text message or responded to a request Little Brothers encourages you to call their Hancock office at 906 482 6944.
