Laurium Will Make the George Gipp Park More Accessible to the Community

The George Gipp Recreation Area will get a new addition to help the park become more handicap accessible to the community. Through a grant with the Portage Health Foundation, the Village of Laurium plans to install a new handicap accessible swing and picnic table in the park. The swing and picnic table will include a cement walkway and platform for easier access. The walkway for the new park additions were made possible by the Knights of Columbus Council – 1245 with a 965 dollar donation from their Tootsie Roll Drive.
