L’Anse Village Fire Chief to Retire

Longtime L’Anse Village Fire Chief Mike Bianco is retiring. Bianco told the village council last night that he’ll step down at the end of the year. He said there’s new leadership ready to take over.

Bianco said he’s served approximately 15 years as chief. This year is his 40th as a member of the department. Bianco also told the council last night that the department’s grass fire truck is experiencing a major engine problem. Mechanics are examining it to see if it can be repaired.
