The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) searched a home in L’Anse on Tuesday related to a four-month drug investigation. Once inside the Spruce Street residence, law enforcement personnel uncovered one ounce of methamphetamine, along with a digital scale and packaging materials for meth and heroin. They also picked up two firearms.
One person has been arrested. The 28-year-old man has yet to be arraigned and his identity is not being released at this time. He has been charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. The felony carries a potential sentence of 20 years in prison.
Several agencies assisted, including L’Anse Village PD, Baraga County Sheriff’s Dept, MSP Calumet Post, MSP Emergency Support Team and the Calumet Post K-9 unit.
