The Michigan high school girls basketball tournament has a new home, and the eight-man football championships are returning to the Upper Peninsula. The girls hoops tourney was bumped from its usual location at the Breslin Center in East Lansing because of potential conflicts with NCAA playoff games. The new site will be in Grand Rapids, at the Van Noord Arena on the campus of Calvin College. The Michigan High School Athletic Association also announced that both of next year’s eight-man football championship games will be played at the Superior Dome in Marquette. Because of the increase in teams in the eight-man class, it will be split into two divisions next season.

Our high school spring sports coverage will continue Friday, as the Jeffers baseball team hosts L’Anse for a doubleheader. Pregame coverage will start around 3:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
