Waking up bright and early to make pasties might be normal for the bakers at the Krupp’s Mini Mart. But the pasties they are making right now are a little more special than normal. That’s because today Krupp’s Mini Mart plans to bake and deliver pasties to the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation’s Meals on Wheels. In total Krupp’s plans to donate more than 200 pasties. After the delicious Upper Peninsula dish is delivered to the Meals on Wheels Hancock location, the Copper Shores crew members will wrap them up in their warmers that will end up at the homes of many seniors in the copper country. Copper Shores Meals on Wheels delivers warm meals to seniors five days a week, with a frozen meal option for Saturdays and Sundays. In 2022 the group delivered more than 90,000 meals to seniors in Houghton and Keweenaw counties. Additionally, Meals on Wheels offers congregate meal sites so seniors with the ability to meet in a social setting can enjoy a meal and some company.
