Mathematics is found everywhere. Tomorrow the Michigan Technological University’s Mathematical sciences department will host the seventh Kliakhandler Lecture, the series invites prominent mathematicians to campus to deliver two presentations. This year says Interim Department Chair Melissa Keranen, the university has invited doctor Susanne Brenner.
“And usually those are interesting because it applies to most people. I can think of one, one of the speakers talked about the Faraday cage, but the mathematics behind it. And then we also will ask the speaker to do some, give a talk on Friday. And that will be just part of our regular colloquium series. And that will be a research-based talk that most people just in the math department come to that.” – Melissa Keranen, Interim Department Chair, Mathematical Sciences Department at Michigan Technological University
The Kliakhandler Lecuter series at Michigan Technological University is supported by a donation from former faculty member Igor Kliakhandler. After leaving the university, Kliakhandler found success working in the energy sector, and with several start-up companies. The first lecture series with Doctor Susanne Brenner tomorrow will begin at 6 pm inside Fisher Hall.
