Keweenaw Wild Ones late summer native plant sale wraps up tomorrow. The local group encourages gardeners in the copper country to replace non native plants with great and beautiful native flower and plant alternatives. Throughout the years, they have held various educational events and plant sales to help connect people in the community. On the group’s website you can view the last of what is available in their late summer sale, which includes flowers such as Blazing Stars, Black Eyed Susans, Jack in the Pulpit, Purple Coneflowers and many more. Native plants have numerous benefits, from being the choice of native pollinators, deeper root systems that breed for the Upper Peninsula’s soil, and of course are great to look at. Check out Keweenaw wild ones before the late summer sale closes tomorrow on their website, https://keweenaw.wildones.org/2022-plant-sale/.
