Public safety is often taken for granted, or is seen as a mystery that saves people’s lives. Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office will once again be hosting the Kewenaw County Public Safety Day. There will be various officers, personnel and equipment from multiple fire departments, law enforcement, an ambulance, the Keweenaw County Road Commission. The Public Safety Day will also welcome Keweenaw Search and Rescue for the first time this year.
The family-friendly event will have free hot dogs, chips and pop will accompany kid’s games, prizes and a bouncy house. The event will also have a balloon artist and face painters. The event is a great opportunity for kids to learn more about public safety personnel and interact with various public safety equipment used to service the county. Keweenaw County Public Safety Day is this Saturday at the Mohawk Park from 11am to 3 pm.
