Over the summer the Keweenaw National Historic Park partnered with the Calumet Keweenaw Sportsman’s Club to offer several fishing camps to youth in the region. Thanks to a successful summer, and partnership between the two groups, the Keweenaw National Historic Park has received approval to hire an intern for the 2024 visitor season who will lead youth-focused interactive programs. The intern will join the national park’s Interpretation and Education team from May to August as the Fish and Feathers Intern. During the internship, the selected individual will assist with the Casting to Connect our Copper Communities fishing program. As well as work closely with the Calumet Keweenaw Sportsman’s Club to select locations for youth fishing programs, work on historical research, and create opportunities to connect history with each fishing location. Individuals interested in learning more about the Keweenaw National Historic Parks, fish, and feather internship opportunity can find more details here. All applicants should submit their resumes and applications to the Keweenaw National Historic Park by February 2nd, 2024.
