Keweenaw Learning Center Moves to Quincy Street

The Keweenaw Learning Center moves to downtown Hancock. Recently the tutoring center completed its move from the Jutilia Center to downtown Hancock. Their new space allows the Keweenaw Learning Center to be able to continue offering classroom style programs. As well as individualized space in the new location for one on one tutoring.

“We are right in between Refill U.P. and Nutini’s, about a block away from the Quincy Green. So this space is a little bit different layout than our former space. One of the great things is we have a classroom in the back. And then we have space in the front for more one-on-one tutoring. So we have two spaces available, which makes it easier for us to have more students at the same time, doing different things.” Dr. Rehema Clarken, Executive Director, Keweenaw Learning Center

This afternoon the Keweenaw Learning center will welcome students and parents to check out their new location in downtown Hancock. While at the open house, attendees can enter a raffle, and meet with tutors ahead of the start of the school year. The Keweenaw Learning Center is also asking parents to help their leadership determine future program needs, by completing a short survey.

“Well we are really exited to have parents come into the space, and see what our space actually looks like. So they can feel comfortable sending their child here. So we have an online survey, that you can find on our facebook page. And we will give away prizes for those that complete it. But basically it’s just a ten question educational survey, to learn a little bit more of what parents want and students need in the Keweenaw.” Dr. Rehema Clarken, Executive Director, Keweenaw Learning Center

The Keweenaw Learning Center offers a variety of tutoring programs. Some focus further developing a student’s English, reading and writing skills, while others are focused on stem courses. The Keweenaw Learning Center’s new tutoring center in downtown Hancock is located at 323 Quincy Street. The open house for the new center will begin at 12, noon.
