Season three of the National Geographic adventure series Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is quickly coming to an end, and the penultimate episode puts the spotlight on the Keweenaw. It is set to air next Sunday, July 25th, at 9:00 PM.
The Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau is planning a watch party for the show at the Rozsa Center on the campus of Michigan Tech. Executive Director Brad Barnett says it is free and open to the public. Guests will be allowed in at approximately 8:30 and excitement is already building.
Keweenaw Report caught up with chef James Rigato in the spring. He’s a long-time visitor to the area and soon-to-be homeowner near Eagle River, who acted as Ramsay’s guide for the episode. Rigato said in that interview that he got the feeling that Ramsay warmed to the Copper Country quickly, united by blue-collar roots. Cornish settlers made up a large percentage of the first wave of miners brought in during the mid-1800’s.
