The Keweenaw Co-op has close to 50 days left until its Quincy Street location’s grand opening. To have everything ready for the community checking out the member-owned grocer, the team needs to add some new employees. In about a month the Keweenaw Co-op will host a job fair to hire several positions in different grocery departments. The Keweenaw Co-op seeks a baker, meat clerk, cashier, grocery stocker, produce clerk, cooks, deli staff, maintenance specialists, and other positions. The job fair will have four opportunities to meet managers, and other department heads at the Portage Lake district library, and with Michigan Works. Co-op employees can earn benefits including paid time off, a 401k retirement plan, medical insurance, and opportunities for on-the-job training and advancement. Walk-in applicants are welcome, however, the co-op does ask prospective employees to register with a job fair application.
