Keweenaw Bay Indian Community holds council general election tomorrow

The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community will hold a general election tomorrow.

L’Anse voters will cast ballots at the Zeba Community Center, while Baraga KBIC residents will vote at the Ojibwa Senior Center. Baraga voters will choose two candidates for representation on tribal council.

Baraga residents will choose between four candidates; Larry Denonie II, Sue Ellen Elmblad, Tony Loonsfoot, and Patrick E Racette.

L’Anse KIBC residents will choose three councilors from a field of four; Jeremy Hebery Elizabeth Julio, Sam Loonsfoot, and Jennifer Misegan.

The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community judge position has a single candidate for consideration, Violet Friisvall Ayers.

Polls will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. KBIC members can find more information about tribal council candidates online. Links can be found below.
