Keweenaw Aspirus Recycles a Cars-worth of Plastic in Six Months

Late last year Keweenaw Asprius Hospital installed a recycling dumpster on their campus. Now, after six months of collecting plastics, paper, and other recyclable items, the hospital hauled away their first full collection. In total, Keweenaw Aspirus’ recycling collected 1.44 tons of material. That same weight is equivalent to America’s top selling vehicle, the Toyota corolla. Once a month Aspirus employees are invited to bring their recycling with them from home. As a leader in the community Keweenaw Aspirus hopes to work with local municipalities on efforts to expand recycling in the area.
