The Keweenaw Area Community Foundation’s fall grant application portal will close soon. The foundation will accept requests for various grants until the end of the day tomorrow. The Keweenaw Area Community Foundation supports various projects throughout the Keweenaw peninsula through several funds focused on addressing a variety of causes, populations, and geographic areas in the region. The KCF grants available this fall are supported by the Environmental Fund, Houghton County Historical Preservation Fund, Joe Freed Empowerment Fund, the Kellogg Youth Endowment, Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Fund, Copper Shores Community Wellness and Outdoor Recreation Fund, Portage Lakes Youth Fund, the David Wiitanen and Slim McLean Memorial Youth Hockey fund, and Funding Youth Initiatives. Grant awardees must be nonprofit organizations focused on serving communities in Houghton and Keweenaw counties.
