The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission awards 117,000 dollars for historic preservation projects around the Western Upper Peninsula. The Keweenaw National Historical Advisory Commission has awarded grants as a part of the Keweenaw Heritage Grant program to thirteen projects stretching from Ontonagon to Eagle Harbor. The three largest projects will receive 15,000 dollars with preservation efforts at the Keweenaw County Historical Society, Painesdale Mine, and Shaft and Quincy Mine Hoist. Another large project has been granted 13,600 dollars for cataloging and documenting work at the Ontonagon County Historical Society. The smallest grant awarded was given to the Adventure Mining company worth 3,500 for the expansion of the 2-level tour area.
