KEDA Organizing Volunteers to Start Work on 425 5th Street

Calumet plans to save a historic building but needs help to do so. Over the past four years, the Village of Calumet DDA, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance and Houghton County Land Bank Authority have worked to levy grant funding from the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office worth 100,000 dollars. KEDA Executive Director Jeff Ratcliffe hopes to find volunteers willing to work this coming weekend on completing some debris removal, before the real work can start to rebuild the roof. To help schedule the most opportune times between Saturday and Monday KEDA has published a quick questionnaire for potential volunteers. Those interested in signing up or wanting to learn more about the project can contact Jeff Ratcliffe for more information. Sign-up can be found here. Contact Jeff Ratcliffe at Jeff@kedabiz.com or call (906) 482-6817.
