The Keweenaw Land Trust will offer an opportunity to explore the Hungarian Falls this weekend. Tomorrow afternoon, the Keweenaw Land Trust will travel to the Hungarian Falls, to enjoy an afternoon snowshoe hike. The falls show a sliver of the geological history of the Keweenaw Peninsula, as the gorge was carved out by the last ice age 15,000 years ago. The trail includes steep sections, with no guardrails, so hikers interested in attending should be prepared for about a two-mile hike with some snow on the ground. Hikers will meet at the Hungarian Falls off of Golf Course Road at 2 pm. The hike should take about two hours to complete. Find more details here.
