The Portage Lake District Library will celebrate Halloween with the area’s youth this week. Today and tomorrow the preschool story time will get a little spooky and will include Ms Hollie and Ms Catie sharing interactive stories and a craft. Preschool Storytime today will begin at 10:30 a.m. today and at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. Both days will feature the same story and craft. Then tomorrow afternoon the Portage Lake district library will invite the area’s kids to the annual PLDL Halloween party. Celebrate the spooky season with crafts, snacks, a movie, and more. While not necessarily spooky, the library will also have a Japanese Culture Club tomorrow evening, starting at 6 p.m. Japan has many great literary and media examples of unique takes on science fiction, horror, and mystery genres, that have become very popular around the globe. Join the Japanese Culture Club, led by area students, as they learn about and explore Japanese food, manga, anime, traditions, games, and more.
