In high school hockey last night…
• Jeffers overcame an early 3-0 deficit, and edged Kingsford 4-3. Cage Osterman had two goals and an assist for the Jets. Brit Heinonen and Kailob Bianco each scored once, with Heinonen’s the game winner. Kasen Helminen made 21 saves.

On the hockey schedule tonight…
• Houghton welcomes Bay Port in a game that will be played at the SDC. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
• Hancock entertains De Pere.

• Jeffers lost at Wakefield-Marenisco 42-39.
• Baraga shut down Ironwood 35-17.
• L’Anse outscored Ontonagon 59-45.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell smothered Watersmeet 76-13.
• Chassell lost to Ewen-Trout Creek 57-11.

In boys action last night…
• Houghton cruised past Calumet 68-37. Isaiah Lawson led the Gremlins with 19 points, and Luke Hill added 16. Gavin Sturos scored nine for the Copper Kings.
• Ontonagon defeated L’Anse 72-60.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell v Watersmeet – no report.
• Chassell fell to Ewen-Trout Creek 57-47. Brayden Larson scored 16 points for Chassell, and Eli Danison added 14 . Austin Gordon led E-TC with 34 points.

On the girls schedule this evening…
• Houghton entertains Kingsford.
• Calumet travels to Escanaba.

In boys action tonight…
• Hancock plays at Calumet in a game that was rescheduled from January 17th. Coverage will begin at 5:40 in advance of a 6:00 tip-off on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• Jeffers travels to Wakefield-Marenisco.
• Baraga hosts Ironwood.
• Ontonagon plays at L’Anse.
• Ewen-Trout Creek entertains Stephenson.

In a girls-boys doubleheader…
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City welcomes Bessemer.

Both Houghton swim teams fell at Marquette yesterday.
• The girls were outscored 134-52. The girls posted two new qualifiers, with Kayleigh Carlson making the 200 individual medley cut, and Alaina Eles making the 500 individual medley cut. Meg Ruohonen won the diving, with Naomi Frahm taking third with her best score.
• The boys lost 118-63, and got individual wins from Collin Raasio in the 500 freestyle and Beau Haataja in the 100 backstroke.

Houghton travels to Rudyard tomorrow to take on the Bulldogs in a tri meet with Sault Ste. Marie.

College Basketball

Both Michigan Tech basketball teams play at Northern Michigan tomorrow afternoon.

College Hockey

The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Lake Superior State tonight and tomorrow night.

The Northern Michigan hockey squad plays at Minnesota State tonight and tomorrow.

GLHL

The Portage Lake Pioneers entertain the Fond du Lac Bears tonight, and the Waterford Sharks from downstate tomorrow. Both games begin at 7:30 at the Colosseum.

The Calumet Wolverines host the Sharks tonight at 7:30, and the Bears tomorrow at 7:00.

NHL

The Red Wings blanked the Flyers 3-0 last night. All three Detroit goals came in the second period, off the sticks of Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider and Andrew Copp. Copp’s was the 100th of his career. Alex Lyon made 30 saves.

The Wings welcome the Golden Knight tomorrow evening. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons entertain the Wizards tomorrow afternoon. Coverage will start at 11:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

The NFL conference championship games will be played Sunday.
• The Chiefs visit the Ravens in a 3:00 contest.
• The 49ers host the Lions in a 6:30 match.
