Inmate walks away from work crew

Update: Harri was located and returned to the Houghton County Jail according to a department release shortly after 6:30 PM. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the MSP Calumet Post, Laurium Police Department, MSP K-9, and Superior Search and Rescue.

Houghton County Sheriff’s Department personnel are actively searching for Keith Harri, an inmate who fled a work crew assignment at about 2:00 PM Monday. He is not considered a danger to the public and is in the middle of serving a year in prison for simple battery and assault. Still, Sheriff Josh Saaranen is advising against approaching Harri.

He is roughly 5’9” with a slim build, weighing approximately 160 pounds. Harri has brown hair and hazel eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a blue jacket with jeans. His winter hat and gloves are black and he has dark wire-rimmed glasses. The crew was working in the Village of Calumet.

Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting tips at (906) 482-0055 or via 9-1-1.
