Huron Street is Ready for Snowboarders During Jibba Jabba

Last year Jibba Jabba returned after a near 10 year hiatus. Well residents and visitors in the area won’t have to wait nearly as long to see snowboarders back on Huron Street. Jibba Jabba returns to Houghton to tear up Huron Street with exhilarating tricks, rail slides, and plenty of speed. The free style snowboard competition has even invited boarders that have taken part in X Games competitions.

“Thanks to Visit Keweenaw, we’re able to build and create some new features that will be really unique where we can actually change mid-event. So what you see at the beginning will likely be able to be changed midway through the event too, which will be fun for spectators and the writers.” – Jenette Reed, Event Director, Jibba Jabba

Jibba Jabba brings spectators right up and close with the action on the temporary snow course. Attendees to the event can also check out several food truck vendors, stop in at the library to warm up, or enjoy the show on Huron Street. Boarders will start registering for the event between 4:30 and 6 pm. Those interested to learn more about Jibba Jabba can find more details here.
