UPDATE: The Upper Michigan Water Company boil advisory for customers living in Hubbell has extended to residents in Lake Linden south of First Street. Due to unforeseen circumstances, water has been shut off at this time to make necessary repairs. The company says the precautionary boil advisory will remain in effect until a second notice has been posted.
The water main requires work between 11th and B Avenue in the Village of Hubbell.
When the boil advisory lifts officials suggest to flush all taps for approximately 10 minutes.
To kill any forms of bacteria while under the boil advisory, residents should bring water to a rolling boil for a minimum of 1 minute. Let cool before using.
The Village of Hubbell will undergo a boil advisory starting today.
Due to a water main break between 11th and B Avenue the Village of Hubbell will remain under a precautionary boil advisory until samples show no evidence of bacterial contamination. The Upper Michigan Water Company will have a crew in the area to assist with work.
