The 70th annual Copper Country Firefighters Tournament allows local departments to have a little fun while showing off their rescue skills. The firefighter’s tournament tomorrow is hosted by the Hubbell Fire Department. Which will host the tournament for the first time in 21 years. The activities starting tomorrow morning will have the department meet for a friendly competition involving foot races, untangling hoses, using water to move objects, and plenty more fun for the firefighters and spectators. Those in attendance can also enjoy some food thanks to the tournament sponsors, and check out various vendors during activities.
Following the tournament’s activities in the morning, the Hubbell Fire Department will lead the other departments for a parade at 7 pm. After the parade, the department’s members and guests will join the festivities at the Firefighter’s Ball in the evening. Outlawd’ will take center stage as the night’s musical guest. During the firefighter’s ball the Copper Country Volunteer Firefighter;’s association will present awards to departments.
Those interested in joining the department for the fun at the tournament’s games in the morning will begin at 11 am in front of Hubbell Park, at 11th Street and B Avenue.
