Houghton Hydrant Flushing Begins on Monday

Houghton will begin hydrant flushing activity across the city next week. The flush will begin on Monday and finish by August 9th. The city will conduct work on the system between 6 am and 6 pm each day. During hydrant flushing water may appear cloudy or discolored. City officials suggest letting cold water run for a short time, until the water appears clear, before using. Houghton apologizes for the inconvenience.
