Houghton County Transfer Station Repairing Scale, Only Taking Bagged Waste Today

The Houghton County transfer station will not operate its scale today. Due to a system failure, the transfer station’s scale will not operate. The Houghton County transfer station says that workers are working to fix the scale, and get it back up and running. Residents who pay by the bag are still able to bring their solid waste to the transfer station. Those with loaded vehicles or trailers will not be able to use the facility until proper repairs are made.
