Houghton City Council Preview- Downtown Parking Ordinance

Houghton City Council will review the ordinance regarding parking in downtown Houghton. There have been small changes to the definitions of certain phrases to clarify them, and small changes to reword and clarify how long a car can park and forbid any reparking within a parking block.

The council will decide on the pre-approval of electronic funds transfer payments for the city’s regular and consistent payments, such as utilities.

The City received a water related infrastructure grant in 2021 that was over 1.5 million dollars, and will release payment to the hired contractors for the water and sewer system improvements phase 3 and 4 of the project.
