Thanksgiving is on Thursday, and Christmas is just around the corner. It must be the holiday season in the copper country. And that means that the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce will happily host the holiday hoopla, and hopes to see many in the Houghton and Hancock area out to support local educational scholarships. The Holiday hoopla is hosted by the chamber, and sponsored by the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance, Keweenaw Young Professionals, and the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation annual support CTE scholarship programs for local students. Through the CTE scholarship program, students can pursue certificate courses, and one or two-year career and technical education programs. Along with the fun at the Bonfire in Houghton attendees can take part in an online auction for fantastic prizes. Tickets for holiday hoopla cost 30 dollars. The online auction will open on December 1st. While Holiday hoopla will take place on December 7th.
