Hancock Public Schools will add two new roles to the High School and Middle School administration starting in the 2024 – 25 academic year. Hancock Public Schools has plans to add a Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Coordinator and a Dean of Students. The new roles within the school environment will work directly with students and faculty, as support for Principal Asiala. Superintendent Chris Salani announced who will join the school’s staff next year in an announcement to parents and faculty yesterday.
Social Studies and Spanish teacher Kristen Huffman will take on the new role as the High School Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Coordinator. Huffman, before coming to Hancock Public Schools, spent time in the Green Bay area serving in a PBIS model for several years. She also currently works as a Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Coordinator in the Middle School. In her increased capacity next year, Huffman will work with the district to move the PBIS model into the elementary school in the future.
The district will also add Matt Griffith as the Dean of Students. Griffith will work to maintain a positive relationship with students by engaging with student conduct, behavior discipline, attendance, policy generation, and student government engagement. In the Dean of Students role he will act as a bridge between the Middle school and high school’s students and staff to support the district’s initiatives under Principal Aisala.
