Hancock Police Investigating a Potentially Politically Motivated Attack and Property Damage

An elderly man has been hospitalized after what appears as a politically motivated incident. Hancock Police are investigating three incidents that appear politically motivated. On Sunday the Hancock police responded to three incidents, two involving property damage.

At 5:45 pm Sunday, Hancock Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Anthony Street for an 80-year-old male subject who was run over by an ATV rider while placing a political sign in his yard. The man was transported to UPHS- Portage for injuries sustained in the incident and remains in critical condition.

Hancock Police believe that the ATV rider was also involved in the damage to two vehicles. The suspect appears to have targeted Trump and Law Enforcement supporters.

Hancock Police ask the community for any information leading to the identity of the ATV rider. Please contact the Hancock Police Department at 906-482-3102.
